Keyboard not working

I have a sony vaio laptop model number PCG-7152L. Every once in awhile my keyboard won't type any letters. I have to restart my computer and then the keyboard will start typing again. If I close my laptop, I can not type when I come to use it again. Leaving the laptop open helps sometimes, but not usually. Also my touch pad does not work at all. The touch pad does not drive me as crazy as not having a kepboard. Do you have any solutions? Thank you in advance!
