Lenovo T61, no display

My Lenovo T61, when turned on, there is apparent backlight on from the monitor, but just no display of anything. But if I connect my external monitor through the VGA port, everything shown on the external monitor is just fine. What could be the problem?

I have changed the monitor's cable, but the problem still exists.

maybe you have set your PC on output display, try setting it with the LCD, on my laptop you press FN and F5 To change the output it should be a sign with a computer and a display
