Lenovo T61, no display

My Lenovo T61, when turned on, there is apparent backlight on from the monitor, but just no display of anything. But if I connect my external monitor through the VGA port, everything shown on the external monitor is just fine. What could be the problem?
I have changed the monitor's cable, but the problem still exists.
