Upgraded RAM now cannot connect to internet

I took a laptop in to have RAM upgraded to meet minimum specs for a new program. I have the computer back but it will not connect to the internet. The computer store that added the RAM does says the problem is not related to the upgrade. Anyone have suggestions. Thank you!

Renew your ip address and make sure your nic is orderly inserted in port.
