Corrupt windows XP recovery CD

I tried to re-install windows from the manufacturers supplied CD as I have many times in the past.

However, this it stopped after a few minutes with a "can't read file" (or similar) error message and wouldn't allow the recovery to continue.

Where can I get a copy of a genuine cd recovery cd that I can use on my laptop ?
Any other solutions ?
