Restore my TOSHIBA LAPTOP L300

Hello,
I am attemping to restore my TOSHIBA LAPTOP L300 to the factory settings, I have tried the F8 repair your computer option but my system does not bring up another menu it just loads windows vista as normal.... Is there a setting i need to diable first to stop this from happening....I have also made a recovery disk and tried to load that but the laptop just goes to windows vista...... I have also followed the user guide that is preloaded on the computer ....what it says should happen does not work....I am thinking of buying the disks from toshiba.....Does anyone have any other suggestions?
