Elements with Mac OS and Windows XP

Is it possible to use the 1T drive to copy files from XP and then open drive on Mac and then be able to edit documents, save them, and then be able to read them on XP?

You must format the drive using FAT32 standards. This is the only common hard drive format supported by both Windows and Mac. The problem is XP will not format drives larger than 32GB when using FAT32. This free program will solve that problem:
