Sound work but not through my headphones

I just recently received my laptop back after getting it fixed from overheating and found out that it had no sound. I downloaded the Conexant HD Audio output driver that was apart of the Toshiba laptop and everything worked out. However, when I insert the headphones into the correct position, no sound is coming from them but still from the speakers themselves. Do I need to install something else for this to work or what is the problem, thanks in advance.
