No Sound on My Computer Closed

Question

Hello, 

I am using an HP Pavilion laptop that is less than a year old.  
I was using my computer this morning when the sound slowly faded to nothing.  I have all of the checks and the HP Fix It program and everything says it is fine.  I still have no sound with or without the headphones.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the sound program.  Nothing helps.

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6.3

Please consider checking whether you are using the right compatible driver to your system.

Try:
1. Check if the sound is on mute.
2. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter. Check if the sound driver is not installed or has been disabled.
3. Check the speakers. Use external headphones, if the headphones are working properly, means the speakers of Laptop are damaged.
