Frozen ipod

I have the newest ipod classic 160GB and it frose and i did the menu and center button thing and it told me to plug it in to my computer and restore settings and when i did that the screan turned white and had a sign that looks like the no smoking sign without the cigarette and told me not to disconnect so i didn't but afer a day i thought that was a bit rediculous so i unpluged it and tried the menu center button thing and now it is frosen on the gray start up screan with the apple on it. what do i do?
