Dv6000 constant beep after windows boots up

Hello,
have hp dv6000 with xp sp3 was running fine yesterday, this am when I started it up it loaded fine, and it runs fine just has this loud constant beep. HP support states that the memory connectors on the motherboard are shot and they said they could fix it for around $500.
That's a bit steep. I find it hard to believe that the machine would run as good as it is if this were the issue. Anyone know how to disable that annoying beep?

Hi there,

As Hp mentioned its about memory so you should have asked them if you fix it yourself will that make the laptop warranty void?As for the the beep codes you will get them on link below from Faq :
