Hi. I was successful also with XP. Hard, but doable.

Sound driver: http://support.toshiba.ca/support/Download/files_Downloads/common/new/TC50071900D_Conexant_Audio_Driver_3.80.0.0.exe

Wireless: Atheros Wiewless Lan Driver xp3264-7_7_0_329-whql.zip Do not install later version. Look for and install that one.

Video driver: 11-8_xp32_dd_ccc_ocl.exe Do not install any other.

All other system parts recognized automatically by Xp. Have fun!!

I have had success with win xp on a c655. Sound is working. Only problem I have is finding compatible video drivers other than the defaulted vga driver it installs.

You need to take the computer to a repair technician to restore Windows 7 on the computer, if you have warranty service on it. The c655 will not work on any Windows OS older than Windows 7.

I tried to do the same thing for a store owner friend's computer, but NO DRIVERS EXIST for anything below Windows 7 for Sound, Video and Wi-fi on the Toshiba c655. You may be able to trick out access to the video by linking up the internal INF files, but that's it.

Sorry, but the Toshiba c655 is a Windows 7 computer, flat out.

Hi there,

Find the drivers for your laptop freely from link below and if not available then return back to windows 7:
