Lenovo R61i Formating problem

Hello,
I had a Lenovo R61i(Thinkpad) laptop .i had problem with my os ,So i want to formet it once ..wen im inserting Windows SP2 CD ...its not starting from " press any to boot from CD "..it direcly entering in to existing OS ...& starting normally with welcome scren ........i had change the boting optionalso to 1st booting device is DVDRAM..but again sam problem ...plz any one giv proper solution to formet...
