corrupt operating system Closed

Hello, 
well i have been told my hi-grade laptop has corrupt operating system and i was wonder how i would go about fixing this as if i can do it myself that would be brill. i have tried using the disk that came with it when my dad gave it to me but it worked once started the pc up then when i turned it off and on again it said that the file on disk 3 already exsisted but wouldnt allow me to go any futher. any ideas what i can do? please help it pink and i love it and i want it working again i do have a working pc with internet please help x

Hi there,

You need to boot from the disk one by one and follow the onscreen instructions to recover your laptop to factory default settings else boot from a windows installation cd and format the hard drive installing new os,

i have tried the disks 1 by one and it gets to the 3rd and says file already exsists and wont do anything else and have also tried re-doing windows but it wont work how would i got about loading a new diff operating system?

Hello pinky ,

Do you know how to install windows on a computer?You need a windows installation disk ,boot from it and erase partitions as well as format the hard disk then continue with instructions you will see on screen,what os are you trying to install and what are your system specs?please provide these information ill assist you .

i had someone try and reboot xp for me and he said it worked then when he tried turning the laptop on after re installing it gave him the same message again. could i not just load a different operating system on to it to replace windows? x
