Help a damsel? Connected but no webpages?

Hello,
On my laptop it shows connected, i have an ip address, speed, signal quality etc but when i open internet explorer it just says cannot display the webpage (on all different sites)
Any help for a simpleton would be greatly appreciated.
I'm accessing this from a different laptop connected to same wifi router box thing, so i know it's laptop specific not a router isses.
Windows XP in case that's something you need to know

Hi,

Open internet explorer and go to tools>unckeck ''work offline '',let me know if its still not working.
