Hello,
I reformatted my laptop from the window xp setup disk and now I don't appear to have any of the proper drivers. I can't get on the internet because it says I don't have the driver for my 1394 net adaptor hardware. HOw can I get the proper drive for this adaptor if I can on the internet to find it.

You download the drivers on another PC and copy them to a flash drive. You then use the flash drive on the broken PC.
