Laptop turns off sporadically

Hello,

I have a HP pavil;ion zv 5000 and it turns off sporadically. I keep it plugged in and i dont depend on the battery at all. Its not running too hot, i have a lap fan thing with two more fans underneath. I'm guessing that the power socket needs to be re-soldered to the motherboard? anyone want to help out and throw a few more troubleshooting tips in before i tear this thing apart?

Hello,
I have a gateway laptop,it was plugged in and charging and on, and it sudddenly just shut off and now will not turn back on. I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but I will mention that I mistakenly tried to put my cellphone charger in the USB port (haha it was dark) right around the time it shut off. Can someone please tell me what is wrong and how to fix it?
