1. Type of stick in the first slot DDR, DDR2 or DDR3
2. Type of stick in the second slot DDR, DDR2 or DDR3
3. RAM quantity in the first slot
4. RAM quantity in the stick you were adding
5. Are you trying to add RAM with a used stick or brand new?

Well another important thing in this situation is the frequency of the ram added and also for the present one ,usually mismatching frequencies usually brings bsod.Please providd these information as requested by Ambucias and a solution will be provided to you.
