What should i do when internet explorer wont work

Hello,
My internet explorer just stopped working and i have no idea how to get it working again! I'll open in and it will open up then immediately a box will appear saying that Internet explorer is no longer working and its trying to find a way to fix it but all it does then is shut down my browser. How do i get it to work again?
