Windows Live Messenger issue

Hello,
I've been unable to log in into Live Messenger for a few days now, I have looked everywhere and tried everything I've seen to fix it but to no avail.

I'm getting the error code 80048820

I'm using Live Messenger 9.0, I have tried everywhere. Strange thing is that sometimes I'm allowed to log in only to lose connection a few minutes later.

Please help!
