Hello,
how do you install volume control i have tryed every thing in the world but noooo my computer has issues in wont do anything and also my speakers are on but there is no sound comming from could you please plaes help me!?...

hi,
go to Control Panel > Open Sounds and Audio Devices > Volume tab > Select "Place volume icon in the taskbar"
check box > Apply > Click OK

I have this same problem, however it is in Windows Vista not XP. Any ideas how to keep the volume icon on the task bar for this?

I have the same problem only thing is i have a IBM. there is no ico for volume, and when i got to control panel and Audio devices it wont let me click on anything.

Hello,

I plugged my Western Digital external hard drive into my Playstation 3 and my Xbox 360 so I could stream my movies off of it. I went to plug it back into my computer, and now my computer no longer reads it :

Volume information for this disk cannot be found

Is there something I can do, some settings I can tweak somewhere where I can now use my external again on my computer. It still works with my 360 and PS3, just not my computer. I have about 17 GB worth of data on it ranging from pictures, movies and music and I really don't want to format my hard drive. If theres anything I can do to fix this PLEASE let me know. Hello,

My external hard drive was working since I got it and I stored my work in it. today,I just plugged in my external harddrive will all my work!!!! to my computer and it said:

"Volume does not contain a recognized file system Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupt?

WHAT CAN I DO!!??! CAN I RECOVER THE FILES?? THANK YOU!

Additional Details
When I attemp to access, it says I have to format it...BUT IT HAS MY WORK...:'(
