So i've had my fx laptop for about 2 years with no problems...I shut it off yesterday and went to turn it on today and it just sits at the initail screen where it has the gatway logo. The only options are f2 and f10 for the bios settings and configuration. I've tried letting the battery run out and rebooting it again and nothing. It did not come with a recovery disc so I dont know what to do. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

Hello,

Try this 1

Unplug the power --> remove the battery --> Hold the power button for 60

seconds --> Connect the power supply then try to switch ON the laptop and later

put the battery back into the laptop.

Good Luck

Try this:

Go to BIOS --> Make sure hard disk is detected in the BIOS -- > Set your first boot device as "Hard disk" --> Save the settings and exit from the BIOS.

Good Luck!

I think that may be the issue .....in the bios it doesn't seem to even be recognizing the hard drive.....all I hear from the comp is a small recurring beep.....this can't be good lol

If the bios does not detect the hard drive, the system could not start. Your hard drive is probably defective, try to put another, to install on it an operating system and everything will be fine.

Good Luck!
