How to fix a gateway laptop that wont start Closed

Hello, 


My laptop for a long time would over heat, well the charger would and then it would shut off randomly and turn back on, sometimes even if it wasnt plugged into a power outlet. Suddenly now it starts and all, but it says, start windows normally. or start windows with a fixer that will help it start properly, i have done both and it still doesnt work, it just black screens. wat should i do?
