Video or audio not playing......

Hello,
i have download video file or audio file through the internet they cannot be play.
they can show the error for the file.........
i have use various media players like that----

vlc,window media player,media player classic etc..

What i do sir
pzzzzzzzzzzzz tell me.......

What is it audio or video ?

Please specify the format of the file.
