Connecting to the internet why?? please help

Hello,
i'm trying to connect to the internet through a shared home network .. basically its wireless and the main thing box is in the next room and it works fine when i connect to it using my 2 laptops but when i used a computer in a different room it doesn't connect . earlier i had a yellow question mark on my erthernet controller but re-installed it and thats fine now but it still doesn't connect .. i troubleshoot and it says my network adapter is fine but it still doesn't connect ..why??
