The charger or the power circuit on the motherboard may be providing a higher voltage that is overloading the video card/motherboard. This could ultimately damage the motherboard. There is no way to tell which is the problem without hands on access. If you have a volt meter you can do a simple test for the voltage supplied by the charger. You will probably need the services of a good PC tech.
