Hello,
Yesterday, my desktop running Windows XP suddenly decided not to recognize any USB devices -- external drives, flash stick, iPod, printer, although it still recognizes a USB mouse. "The notice claims that "one of the USB devices attached to the computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it" However, the devices are all good on other machines, so it's something with Windows. Any suggestions for how to resolve this problem? This isn't a reformat the drives problem since they work on other machines (my laptop runs the exact same OS and software ... no problems there).

This is what Microsoft has to say when USB ports fail:

Try their suggestions and get back to us with your results. Good Luck

you might be overloading the USB port. Try to load less and see if that works..
