My Toshiba Satellite L300D

Hello,
My Toshiba laptop (above) will not boot. It tries to start but the attempts fade out and the screen remains black.
I have tried all the Fn key suggestions and the Linux Puppy IOS on a disk but nothing works. No Recovery disk came with the laptop.
Can anyone help me please? Do you need any more info?

If the laptop didn't boot with Puppy Linux then there's a 98% chance that you have a hardware problem and 90% chance it's motherboard related. You probably need to assess the relative merits of repairing or replacing the laptop.
