Hello,
My ipod got stolen off the bus the other day and we have managed to track it down. The police have recovered it but basically I need to prove it IS mine. The little buggers have synced it to their computer so it has none of my photos or music to identify. If I take my computer that it was synced to, to the cop station, will itunes still recognise the ipod as having been synced to with that ipod before?? Will the name I gave it still be there, or anything like that?
ANY help would be wicked
cheers

I found this information: (I can't verify if it works)

Supply your computer UserName for <userName>

Yes; the iTunes app stores the serial number of every iPod that it connects to. (So if you've had more than one iPod on your computer, you'll have to sort out which is which.) Look here:
\Documents and Settings\<userName>\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPodDevices

Open the file in a text editor, look for the entry below "serial number".

The serial number should be printed on the back of the iPod or in the
iPod About screen if they have removed the label.

Good Luck
