Software update question

Hello,

I got an e-mail from C-Net to upgrade my Skype to Skype 5.10.0.115. The box to click on to start had 'Skype 5.10.0.115 (9)' in it. What does the (9) mean. Can I delete (8), (7), (6), etc. without a problem?
