External Drive problem

Hello,

I have 3TB external hard drive and it has data of 1.9TB, after using it i clicked eject hard drive then it said windows volume is busy try ejecting it after sometime. So i restarted my laptop with my external hard drive connected, but when i open my computer hard drive is detected but i couldn't access it. If i open it says format the disk which i cannot do that caz i have a data inside and its important.

Can you help me out how to recover the data without losing ?

Hello,

First of all, shut down the computer properly and remove the External HD for trying it on another computer and tell us what happens.
