Hello,
I've tried all the suggestions in the forum for connecting my new (used) PS3 wirelessly to the internet. Nothing has worked! The last thing I tried was updating my system software from ver 3.70 to ver 4.31, and then going through the system setup screens on my PS3. I still have the same problem that I've had from the start; the PS3 will not obtain an IP address. I keep getting the same error "Failed", "The connection to the access point timed out". I even get this same error if I manually input an IP address into the settings. Can anybody help me out? Thank you.

I finally solved my problem by going into my router settings and identifying my PS3 with it's Mac code. Once this information was saved into my router settings, I was able to go back to my PS3 setup and an IP address was assigned and I was finally able to connect to the internet.
