firstly one question, did u jail break it? if you did, restore it by connecting it to itunes,
but if you didn't, follow these steps:
1) press the power button and home button at the same time for 15 seconds
2) release the power button but keep holding the home button for 10 seconds
3) then the ipod touch will turn into a recover mode, then restore it via itunes (don't worry, your data will still in there)

p.s. you may have over-charged it, leave it for like 2 days to 5 days and charge about an hour after that.
