Hello, I have dial-up,its all we can get here; Use to be some what fast(for dialup) now slow{23kbs/33kbs} use to run at 48/50kbs??? Also when try to dwn load,it says"timed-out" Is there a way to TURN OFF Timmer???......Thanks,Tim ,also have had message say"fatal error" need to close/restart?????behaving crazy lately,Thanks for any info....Tim

Hi bonezz777,

Connection times out if the download (file) is being received below the server's threshold because it is taking too long. This could be caused because the server is overloaded, your Internet connection is slow, or overall Internet is slow.

A common fix for this problem is to use a third-party download manager that can monitor and if needed resume a download from where it stopped. I have been using "Orbit" for this purpose. You can download "Orbit" by clicking here.

Also, I would like to recommend upgrading your connection to broadband because it is always good to download huge files using a faster connection.
