I have a small (1 Mbps) family LAN with 2 dlink dir615s. Each of the family has a laptop plus phone etc. I've looked with various versions of windows (XP-8).

The issue is that we keep losing the network. I can't tell whether this is due to the ISP, someone stealing all of the bandwidth or our neighbours.

The LAN is password protected and I haven't seen the neighbours on our LAN. But we're so close that ip 192.168.1.1 will take me to their router. That same ip address will appear in my routing table on the dir615.

Any thoughts as we lose the net for ages at a time;. Also is there any freeware that I can use to try to solve the problem ?

Many thanks in advance
