OS Installation problem on TOSHIBA laptop!!!!

was trying to install windows xp on toshiba laptop.. it loads all the files, copies.., but during installation process, screen freezes, behaves abnormal... it's happening even with win7 n win8 too.. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is it hardware prob???????????

Hardware problem? My best guess is YES it is.
