I have a Sony Vaio VPCEH28FN.

The laptop shuts off randomly for no reason even when the bottom of the laptop is not hot.

When it shuts down, it does not power back on. I sometimes press the on button TEN TIMES before it powers on and even then, the lights flash dimly for a few seconds and it shuts off again. So I keep on pressing the on button over and over and over...

But after removing a battery for a while it gets on.

Yaa, The laptop was turned off for previous 2 months as i had not used it because of my paper n some work.

Please help me out asap or should i concern to some service center or some what like the same.

HELP ASAP.

Thanks

Hi Kartikay,

Random shut down can happen because of several reasons other than overheating. One such reason could be simply your computer forced to use maximum resources. Try to boot your computer to Safe Mode and check if the computer stays on in Safe Mode. If the problem doesn't occur in Safe Mode, the problem is within Windows and not a Hardware Problem. Moreover, you can try running the Diagnostics (if any) provided by the manufacturer of the Laptop to isolate any failing hardware component.
