External Hard disk problem

Hello,
Please solve my problem...
I have an external harddisk(WesternDigital) 1 TB.
My laptop is showing on Device Management , but not opened
What should i do? I need it urgent.
How can i know whether my USB is USB1.1 or 2.0?
please.. i have lot of important data in it.

It needs a new drive letter. Try this,
go to control panel -- administraive tools -- computer management -- disk management

Find the drive and right click on it. select to change the drive letter
