Reset a sony vaio VGN-NR38E to factory settings

Hi I am trying to reset a sony vaio VGN-NR38E to factory settings, I have tried alt + f10 on start, nothing happens I have looked at all the answers on the forum but they all come up alt +f10 as I have said its not working. Any ideas thanks sorry it has vista installed

Boot from any Windows installation CD, formatting the hard disk. Reboot from your recovery CD then perform a system recovery.
