Could be a DNS problem with the laptop or the router if you are using one.
1. try using the laptop using a wired connection without the router
2. check to see if a virus hasn't modified your internet settings. I have seen this happen where a "proxy server" was added to IE. The fix is to change the IE settings back to the default.
