ASUS WINDOWS 8 NOTEBOOK not displaying anything

So i had a windows 8 laptop . it was installing some update it wouldn't finish and i left for 5 hours nothing happens then my mr. know it all brother went into the bios settings and changed something then it was all messed up all it does is charge and light bulb is there to. so can any body help my problem

go back into BIOS and press the key to reset the BIOS to defaults.

try booting up.
