Computer does not recognise internet connection

I have a new computer and wireless internet connection
I set up for my emails and I can browse the net but the computer itself will not recognise the internet.
It just states no internet connection . So I cannot access my Fitbit Security or anything else that requires an internet connection

Help please

if its that new take it back to the shop where you made the purchase and claim on warranty
