Kernal Panic? I have never experienced that, what are the indication of a kernal panic? Is it similar to IBS?

A big black box appears telling you in several languages that you need to restart your Mac. In some cases, it will restart on its own. Whichever, this restart takes an incredibly longer time than normal.
I never determined why it was happening to me increasingly, until it was almost every time I tried to print off the internet to an HP ENVY 110 printer.
I completely reloaded my system software, repaired both permissions and the HD and it stopped happening. Ever since then, it has happened only once, and not under the same old scenario.
