My acer not turning on

my laptop (acer travelmate 5744) wont turn on,when i switch the power button it shows there is power yet the fan nor the hard drive respond. what could be the problem?

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.
