Your hard disk has probably failed.
You will need to replace the drive and re-install Windows.

Not normally. Check the underside of the laptop there might be a few doors. Each secured by a small screw. The drive is probably behind one of these doors. A local PC repair shop can sell you a drive and for small additional charge install it for you.
