No sound from both headphone jack and speakers

Hello, my Acer aspire v5 stopped playing back sound after an unexpected shutdown while I wasn't playing a game, and since then both the speakers and the headphone jack is no more producing sound......please help me out

OK, see if the hardware is installed in Hardware configuration. Look for a yellow triangle upon opening the configuration screen. If the triangle is on the Sound device, then try re-installing the drivers!
