Laptop malfunction

Hello,
i have a problems on dell inspiron..when my laptops is placed on laps or horizontally it works almost normally,but when in slidely moves upwards it suddenly shutdown completely.can you give the solution?

Hello,

can you unplug your charger and let me know if your laptop runs on just battery and for how long.
