Hello,
I recently received a Dell Inspiron 15R with Windows 8 and a core i5. It will go to the Dell loading screen then turn black, the mouse pointer (don't know what its called) still appears. I tried letting it run dead then re-charge it, but this didn't work. Can anyone help?

Try this:
1) Disconnect the AC power adapter --> Remove the battery --> Hold the power
button for 60 seconds --> Now reconnect the AC power adapter and try to
switch ON the laptop. Later put the battery back into the laptop.
