Inspiron 1721 won't start

Hello,

My Dell Inspiron 1721 crashed so I replaced the two hard drives but the system will not start up. It cuts on but it only goes as far as the cd drive. The light comes on and stays on and that is as far as the system goes. The screen never comes on. Can anyone help?

You can try the hard reboot process:
1. remove the battery and power cord
2. push and hold down the power button for 45 seconds
3. restore battery and power cord
4. restart the laptop

This will reset the laptop if it had problems with hibernation.
