Hard drive wont show up even in device manager or disk manager Solved/Closed

Question

I've used this hard drive everyday and stored my files there. Unfortunately, it's not appearing in my computer but the blue LED lights up and I can hear typical sounds when you start up a hard drive. I just opened it last night but now it's not appearing. I tried on different laptops PC and mac but there's nothing. It's the first time that happened. I don't have any back up for the files and those are really important.

Try this 1

Click on Start --> In search box, type cmd and press Enter.

"Command Prompt" will be opened.

Now enter the below commands

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 --> Press Enter

cd\ ---> Press Enter

cd windows\system32 --> Press Enter

start devmgmt.msc --> Press Enter

"Device Manager" window will be opened.

Now in the device manager, click on "View" --> Select "Show hidden devices"

Now expand all the nodes by clicking on "+" symbol. If you find any greyed

entries --> Right click on it --> Select "Uninstall".

Restart your PC --> Now try connecting your external drive.

Hello Mckmsha,

Whether it recognized in BIOS?
For accessing BIOS press Del, F2 or F12 according to the manufacturer.
see whether the hard disk(which you say not recognized in my computer)  is presented in the list of booting device. 
Also check it in Disk management.
For accessing disk management,
Right click on My computer-->manage-->disk management.

After plugging in the device, go to device manager (In run type "devmgmt.msc") In Device manager go to "Universal serial bus controllers" It should list the storage devices that you have connected to your PC. Right click and then click "Uninstall. Remove the USB drive and restart your system. 
Try connecting the device again
