It shows windows with the loading sign but then it never opens

Hello,
I have a sony vaio laptop.
it suddenly stooped working
when i tried switching it on it shows the windows icon and the loading sign but then it never opens.
after i did this few more times it shows diagnosing the problem but then again the windows sign appears without the loading sign.
please helppp

Load it in Safe mode by pressing any of the keys and selecting safe mode : F8, F9, F10, or F12. YOu failed to let us know the make and model of the laptop or we would tell you which key to really hit!
